Circus is currenty seeking 1-2 top professionals to help define our growing development team. The role is focused primarily on building database-driven, marketing programs and tools - LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP4+) Development Required.

Must have experience in e-com, online payment, content management, web services, graphics processing, custom intranet applications, etc. Must be comfortable working in Linux/BSD/OSX environments. Experience with CVS version control and following standards. Problem Solving and Brainstormer of ideas a must.

Responsibilities Include:
• Data Modeling and database development
• Program database-driven pages within a site
• Writing technical specifications as required to achieve the
  objectives of functional requirements
• Providing time estimates on the development of applications
• Perform quality control and testing of all modules
• Collaborate with Group Director to grow the Division
• Work with project manager and designers to develop group
  standards and code standards
• Mentor application developers
• Technical selling and presentations
• Lead group in technical design

Technical Specifications:
• Fluent in PHP4/5 with daily use of mySQL4+; Oracle, MSSQL,
  postgresql or any other RDBMS preferred
• proficiency with Java, C/C++, .NET, Python, Perl, Ruby
• Flash/Actionscript a big plus
• Javascript, CSS2+, DOM, WAP, "AJAX", "AFLAX"
• Experience building web services or CRM/B2B
  applications based in XML/XSLT, SOAP, RDF
• Respect for open standards, current design patterns
  (OO/AOP, MVC) and planning and documentation, as well as
  willingness to get hands dirty with debugging and support issues.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

As the cool weather sets in, so does the chance to run away and join the Circus! We seek unique candidates to be a part of our Internship Program. Interested individuals will gain valuable experience, knowledge and skills while carrying out day-to-day objectives. These are unpaid internships to gain credits for your internship requirements.

As a member of our circus sideshow, you will work closely with our Account Team, Creative Director, PHP Developers and Print Vendors to support the development of a variety of projects and campaigns. This is a great opportunity for individuals who thrive in a friendly, casual, yet professional environment, and who are team driven and ready to soak up knowledge in the communications industry. 1.0 Marketing
You'll be responsible for assisting with day-to-day marketing and media relations activities to help our team communicate with a variety of audiences. Commincation is essential along with great writing and editing skills. Ideal candidates will be working toward an undergraduate degree in journalism, public relations or a communications-related field, be motivated and energetic, and work well in our fast-paced environment.

2.0 Programming: PHP + MySQL Programming
You'll be responsible for beta testing, fixing scripts, tech support and implement content management systems closely with our development team. Ideal candidates are students working toward a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience {PHP+MySQL development}. Must be MAC/PC proficient using HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, Javascript. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, multimedia skills a plus. Problem Solving, troubleshooting, technical support a plus.

3.0 Graphic Design + New Media Design
You'll be responsible for graphic design support assisting our designers in production of brochures, business id, presentation comps and internal objectives. You will learn the ropes in illustration, typography, print and web design conception, web page production, image production, flash production, research and design support. The ability to interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources of input is required.

4.0 Studio Production
You'll be responsible for assisting our designers in many aspects of production including mockups, stenciling, handbuilt kits, development of displays, studio photography, image scanning, color correction, photo editing, file archiving and backups.
